As summer is in full swing, we’re taking a moment to reflect on and celebrate the incredible 2024–25 school year at CICS Longwood Elementary—a year marked by creativity, student leadership, and deep community connection.
We were proud to host the Distinctive Schools Southside High School Fair, welcoming students from across the network to explore future academic pathways and connect with high school representatives. This milestone event provided our students with important information and inspired them to plan boldly for their futures.
On stage and in the spotlight, our students shined in a fantastic performance of The Wiz—a vibrant culmination of our thriving theater program. Fully bringing the story to life, our young performers showed remarkable talent, teamwork, and confidence, proving just how much creative spirit lives at Longwood Elementary.
We also came together for the powerful Be the Peace event, made possible by the BOWS grant. This day of reflection and celebration focused on kindness, conflict resolution, and building a culture of respect through the power of performance and art—reinforcing our commitment to nurturing compassionate and thoughtful leaders.
Throughout the year, our students grew academically and socially, strengthened by a supportive staff and engaged families. Thank you to our families, staff, and students for making the 2024–25 school year one to remember. Here's to a restful, fun-filled summer—and to an even brighter year ahead!
